Curious as cats and shy as deer, pixies go where they please. They like to spy on other creatures and are always excited to make new friends; only a pixie's fear of being captured or attacked can contain its innate curiosity. In truth those who wander through a pixie's glade might never see the creatures, perhaps hearing the occasional giggle, gasp, or sigh. When seen Pixies generally wear doublets or flowing gowns made of silk that sparkle in moonlight. Some dress in acorns, leaves, bark, and the pelts of tiny woodland beasts. They take great pride in their regalia and beam with joy when they are complimented on their ensembles.
Pixie Traits
To create your Swarm, roll 2d4. 1 dice is male (pixo) and the other dice are female (pixie). If you roll a 1, reroll your dice. You need to choose a class for every Pixie (or pixo).

Darkvision
Living mostly outdoors outside of traditional lighting, you have superior vision in dark or dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if you were in bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.
Fey Ancestry
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
You have a proficiency in the Nature and Stealth skill.
Wings
Your wings give you a flight speed of 30 while you are not wearing medium or heavy armour. if you suffer more than half of your maximum health in damage from an area spell effect, your wings will be damaged or destroyed. a pixie's wings will regrow over a long rest.
Pixie Dust
When visible, and when the pixie wishes it, a shower of sparkling dust follows in their wake like the glittering tail of a shooting star. If gathered in a vial immediately, it has magical uses. If not gathered, it disappears within seconds.
It can be used for all magic components in spells.
Alchemical crafting with Pixie Dust
All Pixies have the secret knowledge to make use of Pixie dust; a strange golden glowing sand that can make creatures fly, confuse enemies, and make people disappear. The recipes are as follows, any of these will produce a functional (but random) alchemical creation when mixed in a vial with pixie dust and water:
- A petal from a flower that you think is beautiful, dried and ground into a fine powder and mixed with the sap of a Sentient Tree, added to the potion.
- The tears of a dying pixieadded immediately (the tears of the pixie that created the dust will work, as some wizards have found out).
- 2 leaves from a Dryad, given willingly. The entire potion then needs to sit in sunlight for at least an hour.
- A shaved moustache from a sleeping Redcap, sprinkled into the mixture. Maintain a high heat for 2 hours.
- The eyes of a hag, burned to ashes and diluted in the solution. The mixture needs to then be exposed to moonlight for an hour.
- The sweat of a quickling, the slow spell then needs to be cast on the mixture
- A hair from a nymph, given as a gift, once added to the mixture a kiss from the nymph seals the magic
Other recipes exist involving other fey creatures.
Once created the potion needs to be shaken vigorously for 5 minutes and then its true form will emerge.
One of these potions can be used as the material component for any third level or lower spell. If the potion was created by a pixie, it always knows what the effects of the potion are once it settles. Roll a percentile dice and consult the Pixie Dust table below to determine the effect.
D100 | Magical Effect |
---|---|
01 - 70 | The creature who drinks the potion gains a flying speed of 60 feet for 10 minutes. |
71 - 80 | The creature who drinks the potion must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or fall unconscious for 1 minute. The creature awakens if it takes damage or if it is shaken or slapped as an action. This can be applied to a weapon and counts as a single dose of a poison. |
81 - 90 | The creature sprinkled with dust must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be affected with a confusion spell. This can be applied to a weapon and counts as a single dose of a poison. |
90 - 00 | The creature sprinkled with dust becomes invisible for 1 hour. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying is invisible if it is on the creature’s person. The effect on the creature ends if it attacks, deals any damage, or casts a spell. |
Nature magic
You know the Druidcraft Cantrip and can create remarkably durable clothing suitable for a tiny creature out of natural material and small baubles over a short or long rest.
Mercurial Tricksters
You may cast the Invisibility spell once per short or long rest as a bonus action with no material or verbal components. If you are a spellcaster, this spell is also added to your spell list.
Small Born
You are a Tiny Creature and has a walking speed of 15 feet. You also have a 1d4 hit dice on every class you take, except for a class that has a 1d12 as a hit dice. Instead it uses a 1d6.
Due to your tiny size, you need to have specialised weapons and armour. It uses special dices for each normal weapon. Listed down below. The weight of the weapon is reduced to 1/8 of its original weight. Magic equipment that resizes with you are also weight reduced to 1/8 of its original weight. See the armour table below to decide your armour class.
Your carry capacity is calculated like 5*Strength. Due to your tiny length, you don’t have much magical capacity. For full-magic casters, your spell slots are halved (rounded up). For magic casters that are a subclass (Rogue arcane trickster) you have your full spell slots. Cantrips aren’t affected.
Telepathic Minds
Choose 1 pixie and 1 pixo. Every pixie and pixo can walk 120 feet from the center of the chosen pixie and pixo. You also can telepathic commune with other pixies and pixos. This is pure telepathy, which causes that every pixie can see trough each other eyes. They can commune with other creatures in a 30 feet range, using normal telepathy. Only words and simple feelings can be sended.
